On Wednesday, March 13th, Google announced that it is killing Google Reader. Reader will be officially “retired” on July 1st, 2013, according to the Official Google Reader Blog.

While I used Feedly on my iMac and MacBook and Feeddler RSS on my iPad, I’ve elected to use both for the simple reason that they sync easily with my Google Reader account. With Reader about to be retired that means that I, like many others, will be forced to revamp the way in which I subscribe to and read blogs.

Along those lines, I’m open to suggestions. If you have an RSS service that you really like, please let me know in the comments.

Apart from that, I’d simply like to offer these simple but heartfelt words: Rest in peace, Google Reader. You will be missed.
